BAM…

…BOOTEAK. Last month 5 people came together to create a Spring/Summer lookbook for London based clothing designer Amber James (Bambooteak). Shot at a studio in Shoreditch we created quite a simple, urban look; hair and makeup by Anna Lincoln and Karen Werther. Models were provided by FM Models.

Here’re just a few of the images I shot that day:

As a wee little treat, here’s a video, shot by Linus Kraemer:

Styles Of Beyond

Last weekend (Saturday 11th June) I was at the Parklife Festival up in Manchester, the frist time I’ve been into Manchester for about 10 years… True story, I was there with Hospital Records to cover their Hospitality event in their own fancy looking tent (which apparently had its own toilet we were all unaware of). Great day, great “vibe”, great everything, and during my time there, I was able to shoot quite a varied set of images of the clothing styles of the day from in and around the Hospitality tent:

Parklife 2011, Fashion.

A couple of my personal favourites:

Enjoy!

Yikely

I promised a video from last week’s London Elektricity and Elsa Esmeralda shoot… Here be it:

More available at London Elektricity’s Blog

Enjoy

The big Hospital cleanup

I must admit, it’s a very nice feeling to work with a record label that takes home *EIGHT* awards (if you include Netsky’s 4) at the Drum & Bass awards just last weekend:

Hospital Records – 4 of the 8

Congratulations to everyone at Hospital Records – Chris, Tony, Tom, Matt, Ash, Josh, Belinda, Ricky, Zac, Edgar and anyone else I’ve forgotten… Really sorry! Also congratulations to Netsky who took home 4 awards!

Onwards and upwards.

Enter New Work Here

In chronological order, no less:

DC Breaks:

Photoshop info: The second image was rebuilt from about 3 others due to random bits of distracting clutter on the floor and walls, also needed to use multiple images to reconstruct the middle window and roof just above it as there was a light with lampshade which was a big distraction and had to go.

Delta Heavy:

Photoshop info: The falling vinyl and picture of the two of them weren’t separate images… Honest.

Nu:Tone:

Photoshop info: There was never any paint there, it was drawn onto the image using a standard bic biro, directly onto the screen

24/7 Magazine (Cardiff Hospitality):

I shot quite a lot more at the end of 2010, that’s just a small selection, plus I’ve not included any stuff from 2011 – best to have a steady stream rather than shotgunning it all out at the time. Watch out for new stuff coming from London Elektricity, Kasra and more.

Until next time, chums!

Elektricity bill

Happy St. David’s Day.

Yesterday we shot London Elektricity and Elsa Esmarelda’s press images for the up-coming album ‘Yikes’, it was an absolutley fantastic morning and afternoon’s work, best shoot of 2011! Highlights were ‘The Yikes Machine’ made by Ricky Trickartt, Tomahawk’s motivational yelling (it was all part of getting Tony and Elsa looking like they’re being elek-trocuted [see what I did there?]) and the Father Ted references (“Sounds like a screaming competition Father Noel Furlong would have envisioned”, or words to that effect).

Here’s a little BTS image taken by Riley:

There was also a bit of video shot that day, I’ll be sure to post it here as soon as I get it. Tomorrow we shoot Kasra of Critical Records fame for his 2011 press shots, in North London.

Book Update

I think the key here is short, sharp blog posts… A couple of new entries to my book:

Delta Heavy join the ranks

I will, in the next few days post some of the stuff I’ve worked on over the past couple of months (some, not all; can’t show a lot of it until a later date etc).

YCC Weekly Score

Last week I was asked by a couple of my good friends Emma Townley and Laura Davies to guest write the Weekly Score for the Young Creative Council blog. I wanted to write more, share more images, music, talk more about male fashion (as you’ll see, I’ve not touched on it at all) etc etc. But since I was already into 1000 words, I thought enough was enough. Please take a looksee:

Merci.

Ready for the weekend

A short one… Whilst many were watching fireworks on the 5th and recovering on the 6th and 7th, I was holed up shooting pictures of more Drum & Bass all-stars, namely DC Breaks and Delta Heavy (not a good weekend for filling my dnb A-Z list), both in the Shepherd’s Bush area, both really fun shoots; smashing up vinyl, megaphones, marshall stack amps, guitars-a-plenty, hearing DC Breaks’ “Take That” from start to finish, jumping etc. Will spend the next few days editing.

My ass is out

Vinyl Justice

P.S. I watched fireworks on the 6th.
